Are 20" wheels right at age 7?
Age alone is not enough. A 7-year-old can be shorter or taller than average. If their height is outside 115-130 cm, pick the size from our guide by centimetres, not years.
My 7-year-old is taller than their peers. What should I do?
If they exceed 130 cm, consider wheels larger than 20". If they are under 115 cm, a smaller size will give more control. Height beats age when choosing a bike.
What gear do you recommend for a 7-year-old?
A properly sized helmet, gloves and knee pads for first rides. Check brakes and tyre pressure before every outing. At age 7, adult supervision still matters in traffic and on new trails.
